What we do

The Florida Bar publishes each member's current record. It does not publish how that record changed over time. We check every licensed Florida attorney every day, detect field-level differences, and keep a permanent, dated history — so “this attorney was suspended on 14 June” is a fact you can look up rather than something you had to notice.

Where the data comes from

Two sources, both public. The baseline comes from The Florida Bar's official membership-records data request. Daily deltas come from the Bar's own public profile pages, fetched politely at a low, rate-limited crawl rate with an honest user agent and a contact address.

Every fact on this site carries an “as of” date and links back to the Bar's canonical page for that attorney.

How change detection works

Records are normalised, serialised to canonical JSON, and hashed. A change is a hash difference followed by a structural field diff. No language model is involved in deciding whether something changed — that decision has to be reproducible.

A failed fetch is never reported as a change. Suspected changes are re-fetched and confirmed before anything is written, and if an implausible share of the population appears to change at once (a sign the Bar restructured its site), the entire run is quarantined for human review rather than mailed out.

What we do not publish

Email addresses and cell numbers are never published, in any form — not on a page, not in our API, not in structured data, and not by the chatbot. Full street addresses are visible only to signed-in users, because a large share of Florida solo practitioners use a home address as their Bar address.

We are a monitoring and public-records tool. We are not a lawyer referral service, and nothing here is a recommendation about any attorney.
